I just returned from a whirlwind business trip visiting 3 resorts on 3 Caribbean islands in just 3 days! Sandals and Beaches Resorts filled a chartered plane of over 100 expert travel advisors to see the latest updates to their properties in the Bahamas and Turks and Caicos, as well as visiting their newest resort in Grenada. Below you’ll find my reviews.
Sandals Royal Bahamian is a great getaway from Newark and JFK, perfect if you only have a long weekend or a few nights to spare and want to escape the hustle and bustle of life. This adults only resort is one of very few properties in the entire Caribbean that offer an off-shore private island experience for the day. Just a 10 minute boat ride from the resort, and you step onto to the tranquility that only a private island can offer without the high end ticket other destinations charge.
There is even a full service Red Lane Spa right on the island where you can experience a unique ocean front couple’s massage using local ingredients that will help soothe away the tensions. And of course the turquoise waters of the Bahamas are a godsend for our tired eyes and so refreshing to experience. |
Turks & Caicos

Beaches Turks and Caicos is the family friendly resort I love on this beautiful island. They are continuously improving this property. Visitors to the island in the past may have stayed at the lovely and ever so popular Italian Village. The newest addition to the property is the charming Key West Village.
Well they wowed us once again! If you are looking for a family beach cottage steps from the beach, look no further. This village has a true Florida Keys beach house influence with lovely white picket fences and accommodations that range from a 1 Bedroom Suite to a 4 Bedroom cottage with private plunge pool that even comes with your very own butler. The Key West Village is perfect for families looking for a quiet escape yet still want the convenience of being only a 5 minute skip to the lively Italian and French Village pools and water-park. With plenty of lounge chairs along the beautiful, long stretch of beach and multiple pools to choose from, waking up at the crack of dawn to hawk a beach chair is not necessary here. Boasting 19 restaurants in which you can even order lobster (when in season) without any additional charge means there is never a problem finding a place to eat and you don’t have to worry about incurring unexpected additional expenses at hotel check out. Who else lets you dine on lobster an no additional cost? Now that is a truly all inclusive vacation! |
Grenada
|
Well, they certainly left the best for last on our 3 day trip as we landed on the beautiful island of Grenada. Gorgeous, pristine and unspoiled is how you describe this mountainous and volcanic island. Sandals just opened their newest adults only resort – Sandals La Source Grenada. It is the most beautiful of them all! With gorgeous outdoor soaking tubs on the balcony or terrace that allow you to close the privacy curtains, you can slip into your own romantic bliss and still hear the ocean waves crashing.
The entire beachfront property is built along a hillside offering wonderful views of the sea and mountains. The food was delicious and the locally grown spices (after all, this is the “Spice Island”) enhance the flavor of the Caribbean dishes that the chefs concoct for you at the many restaurants available on property. |
