Built into the hillside, the rooms offer panoramic views that inspire you. Most rooms have the 4th wall missing! A select few are more traditional, with air conditioning. During our stay in a 3-walled room, overhead fans and cool ocean breezes kept us very comfortable as the chirping of the birds lulled us to sleep at night. The most requested room even has a tree built into the huge bathroom. You have to see it to believe how incredibly beautiful it is.
Jade Mountain.
Located higher on the hillside, this property is the ultimate in a couple’s romantic getaway. It features open room concepts which include infinity pools and over-sized Jacuzzi tubs in most rooms, so that you can feast your eyes on the magnificent views in front of you. The rooms are referred to as sanctuaries because you are ensconced in your own little slice of heaven on earth. Every detail is tended to with care by your own personal butler. All of this is why this property has been voted one of the top most romantic hotels in the Caribbean!
Our Experience
As soon as we arrived at Anse Chastanet, the staff greeted us in the open air lobby, setting the tone from the start. The “rustic” décor reminds you that you are at a very special place, yet it is complete with all the luxuries you could desire. The hotel staff tends to your needs and knows each and every guest.
As a seasoned travel specialist, I have sent many couples to both properties, and they always had wonderful things to say about their experience.
However, I had not sent families, so my husband and I decided to test the family experience by staying here with our own two teenagers.
The kids were thrilled to find that the many onsite water sports are complementary. Not to be outdone, I am proud to say I tried paddle boarding for the first time and managed to stay standing! With so many activities available onsite, including mountain biking, we did not miss having a television. For those who prefer to stay connected, complementary WIFI is accessible even in the hilltop rooms.
My teenagers’ appreciation of the culture and beauty of such a unique hotel added to the experience.
