Beautiful beach on the pristine beach on Anguilla
Located in the Caribbean just across from St. Martin, Anguilla is a sleepy and pristine island which offers pure beauty and relaxation. It is a private, more exclusive retreat perfect for the discerning traveler seeking fantastic food (known to be the best in the Caribbean!), gorgeous white powdery beaches, and clear turquoise waters.

Nightlife consists of dinner and drinks at gourmet beachfront restaurants and intimate local beach bars located steps from the sand. Daytime activities in Anguilla can consist of renting a car for the day or hoping in a cab to explore the island which is flat but lush and beautiful. There is one main road so you can’t get lost. But being that it is a British owned island, you will be driving on the left side.

You can explore the many beautiful beaches and find a secluded area to spend the afternoon or shop at some of the local village shops in The Valley. But the shopping enthusiast might want to venture out to St. Martin, just a short 30 ferry ride away, for a more extensive shopping selection.Anguilla is for the traveler that appreciates a quiet Caribbean island and is not interested in flashy resorts, casinos or shopping malls.Other activities available on Anguilla are horseback riding along the beach, golf, tennis and cave exploring. And the island of St. Barts is a short 45 minute boat ride away. footprints in the sand

Cap Juluca Resort in Anguilla
My husband and I spent a quick 3 night stay at the beautiful 5 star rated resort Cap Juluca, which has won numerous accolades and awards for its location, beauty, ambiance and cuisine. While our trip was brief it did give us the downtime we needed, since nonstop air is available on a daily basis from Newark or JFK. Getting to Anguilla is easy.Cap Juluca is located on the gorgeous stretch of crescent-shaped beach called Maundays Bay where you can snorkel, Jet Ski or swim in crystal clear, calm waters. The staff at the resort will pamper you with their beachside service as they set up your lounge chairs on the beach along with fresh towels and chilled water bottles in your own little Cap Juluca beach cooler.

Our room accommodations were perfect, super clean and romantic with beautiful mosquito netting draping the king sized bed. Breakfast was delivered to our room every morning on our oceanfront patio where the sweetest little birds came by to greet us in hopes of getting some scraps. Every morning was the perfect start to a truly magnificent day!The resort has the most beautiful Moorish influenced architecture you will find in the Caribbean. The contrast of the resort’s arched white buildings and the backdrop of blue sea and sky made my husband and I feel like we were back on the Greek island of Santorini, where we honeymooned many years ago. Our days were full of perfect weather consisting of sunny blue skies with some occasional sprinkles of refreshing rain in the evenings as we did travel during hurricane season.  Anguilla, it is paradise for those seeking the quiet beauty that the Caribbean still has to offer.
