Uncrowded beaches with baby powder soft sands and a cuisine mecca awaits you this winter!
Autumn is upon us and it’s time to plan that warm weather winter escape. Don’t have a full week? No problem. In under 4 hours from the NY/NJ area or just 90 minutes from Miami we can get you to Turks and Caicos! But I must warn you – once you’re there, you will want to stay longer!
There was a time when no one had heard of this superb Caribbean destination. But it has now been on the radar for years. What makes it different from other islands?
Well for starters it has some of the most pristine white sand beaches touching super clear turquoise waters. And its numerous top-level resorts make it a perfect vacation or honeymoon spot for the most discerning traveler.
Grace Bay Beach is the most sought after beach here, and it’s where many of the most luxurious hotels are located. You have to experience Grace Bay Beach to understand why. The sand feels as if you have stepped into talcum powder – just heavenly. And you will surely spot lots of sea life once you dive into water so clear that you noticed that chipped toenail polish. Caicos Reef, the third largest reef in the world is at Turks and Caicos, making it a world-class dive destination. Plus it’s also perfect for beginner divers.
Relaxation – that’s what this island is about. The beaches are uncrowded. Not flashy, nor loud but perfectly relaxing and peaceful. The vibe is chic and hip at Turks and Caicos and the cuisine is one of the best in the Caribbean. Imagine dining outside by the beach, under the stars at one of their many charming restaurants, beachfront Hemingway’s, being one of the most famous.
Most activities are centered around water and believe me you may not want to step out of that ocean. However, the destination also offers a world-class golf course at Provo Golf Club, many high end shops and a weekly Thursday night Island Fish Fry.
Turks and Caicos is made up of 40 islands and cays, 8 of which are inhabited. Explore some of its other islands by ferry, like Middle Caicos, which has one of the largest limestone cave systems in the Caribbean.
Other can’t miss activities:
- Spot herons, flamingos, osprey, and egrets in salt ponds and inland marshes
- Go sport fishing for bone fish, marlin, and wahoo
- Paddle a two-person, glass-bottom kayak to Madison point
- Taste locally harvested conch and rum punch – the conch is amazing!
- Snorkel among colorful sea life and maybe catch a glimpse of a stingray
- Horseback ride on the beach and into the shallow waters
Insider Tip: Kiteboarding is becoming one of the fastest growing and most exciting watersports today. Turks and Caicos offers some perfect locations where you can learn how to become an expert kite rider.
