During our visit we swam with the sharks (friendly and well-fed ones, so no worries!) and cuddled up with manta rays (so adorable and my favorite experience).
Then off to snorkeling the barrier reef in the lagoon where we saw a rainbow of colors of coral and marine life. Afterwards, I was content to lounge outside my over-water bungalow until the sun set over the horizon.
And then the evening show began as the star-lit sky took over. Book a romantic dinner under the stars; you and your special someone will pick out constellations as you star gaze the night away while enjoying fresh fish plucked out of the ocean that same day. Keep in mind that Tahiti is not an active night life type of destination it is laid back and romantic.
Ready for some land excursions? Then the mountainous and pineapple plantation island of Moorea might be a good fit. Here, too, over-water and beach bungalows are yours to enjoy. The 4X4 island safari will take you past the lagoon to explore and hike this lush island. The Belvedere lookout point will give you some beautiful horizon views perfect for those selfies. And the island even has an 18 hole Arnold Palmer golf course if you are looking to tee up in paradise. While it’s true that it does take some effort to get there, Tahiti has something for everyone. Believe me when I say that it is worth making the investment in both time and money. The beauty of this destination will truly take your breath away and give you memories to enjoy for years to come.
