But if you want to get a breathtaking bird’s eye view of this island and arrive in 10 minutes, then a helicopter ride airport transfer is the way to go. Created by a volcanic eruption, St. Lucia has the only “drive in” volcanic crater in the Caribbean. Its signature attraction is the majestic Pitons mountains in the southern region of the island.
The twin peaks known as Gros Piton and Petit Piton jut out into the sky just grazing the heavens! An unforgettable view. Lush foliage and quiet and upscale resorts make for a romantic setting.
What To Do?
Never boring, there are abundant activities available:
- Venture into the rainforest for a zip line canopy tour over the tree tops.
- Take a tour of the spectacular botanical gardens – totally worth the trip.
- Hike those amazing Piton Mountains! It is quite a hike but certainly doable and the views are just outstanding.
- Mountain bike on some fun trails along a historic plantation
- Horseback ride into the turquoise sea
- Soak in the therapeutic hot springs – they are a natural spa created by rain water that accumulates on the island’s volcanic crater.

Anse Chastanet and Jade Mountain are sister properties in a 600 acre lush tropical estate. As St. Lucia is a volcanic island, the 2 hotel properties are set on soft black sand beaches. Honeymooners and couples getting away from it all will really appreciate Jade Mountain, while both families and couples will love Anse Chastanet.
Anse Chastanet. Built into the hillside, the rooms offer panoramic views that inspire you. Most rooms have the 4th wall missing! During your stay in a 3-walled room, overhead fans and cool ocean breezes will keep you comfortable. The most requested room even has a tree built into the huge bathroom. You have to see it to believe how incredibly beautiful it is. A select few rooms are more traditional, with air conditioning.
Jade Mountain. Located higher on the hillside, this property is the ultimate in a couple’s romantic getaway. It features open room concepts which include infinity pools and over-sized Jacuzzi tubs in most rooms, so that you can feast your eyes on the magnificent views in front of you. The rooms are referred to as sanctuaries because you are ensconced in your own little slice of heaven on earth.
